Below is a list of initiatives, projects, collective, and organisations that highlight tensions, issues, and opportunities in intercultural exchange.

Tandem is a cultural collaboration programme that strengthens civil society in Europe and neighbouring regions.

Triangle Network is an international network of small-scale arts organisations and projects from over 40 countries. The network focuses on supporting and disseminating the work of emerging artists through artist-led workshops, residencies, exhibitions and outreach events. With a focus on professional development and cultural exchange, Triangle encourages peer-to-peer learning and creates research opportunities for artists, curators and other arts professionals through its projects.

The ifa (Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations) is committed to a peaceful and enriching coexistence of people and cultures worldwide. It promotes the exchange of art and culture in exhibition, dialogue and conference programs. As a competence center of foreign cultural and educational policy, it links civil society, cultural practice, art, media and science. It initiates, moderates and documents discussions on international cultural relations.

Rice Paper Magazine,  a Vancouver-based Canadian magazine established in 1994. It showcases Asian Canadian literature, culture, and the arts.

Creative Disruptions is an AHRC funded research project involving researchers from 5 universities, including Queen’s University Belfast exploring “how marginalised communities use the arts, media and creativity to challenge exclusion.”

In the Heart of the Heart of Another Country is a collaborative contemporary art project that aims to explore the situation in Syria and the political and socio-economic crisis in both Greece and Lebanon.

Shubback Festival was founded in 2011 by the Mayor of London. It is London’s largest biennial festival of contemporary Arab culture. The festival seeks to bring London audiences and communities together with the “best of contemporary Arab culture”. The programme includes new presentation and commissions of “visual arts, film, music, theatre, dance, literature, and  architecture” as well as discussion and debate.

Belfast Suitcase Stories was developed on the foundations of four years of previous work by ArtsEkta, a Belfast-based arts and cultural organisation that works to develop intercultural relationships at the heart of the community in partnership with Cara FriendAn DroicheadBelfast Islamic Centre and Northern Visions TV.

Behind the Scenes is a  a professional development and capacity building initiative of the British Council.

Nine Nights was  theatrical celebration of ancient Indian folklore in music, dance, drumming, procession and special effects. It took place in 2015 as part of the Creative Belfast programme, a major investment by Belfast City Council and Arts Council Northern Ireland in seven projects aimed at providing residents the opportunity to take part in high-quality culture inspired by the city’s local heritage.

The Programme for InterCultural Arts Support (PICAS) is CAP’s Community Arts Partnership’s programme offering a range of opportunities to support the delivery of key areas of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Intercultural Arts Strategy.

Terra Nova is Northern Ireland’s only professional inter- cultural theatre company.

Draw Down the Walls is a unique project that uses art and language to explore the legacy of interface walls and the impact of segregated living on communities.
